James builds and nurtures the community of volunteers, donors, and supporters that make our work possible. With a background in nonprofit management and a gift for bringing people together, he has grown our volunteer base from a handful of dedicated individuals to thousands of active participants. James came to conservation work after a career in education, where he developed a passion for connecting people with nature. He believes that environmental restoration is most powerful when it becomes a shared community effort that brings diverse groups together around a common purpose.
